Description

The Prime Slider plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via UIkit component attributes (such as 'data-bdt-svg' and 'data-bdt-lightbox-panel') in Elementor, post and comment content in all versions up to, and including, 4.7.0. This is due to an incomplete fix for an earlier issue. The server-side content guard's regular expression only removed 'bdt-*' and 'data-bdt-*' attributes that were preceded by whitespace, so an attribute separated from the previous one by a slash survived and was then normalised into a working attribute. In addition, the bundled UIkit's client-side fragment sanitizer did not remove control characters before checking URL schemes and did not block elements such as iframe, so markup in a component option could still carry script URLs. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
