Description

The Categories Images plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'default' attribute of the 'z_taxonomy_image' shortcode in versions 3.3.0 up to, and including, 3.3.3, due to insufficient output escaping. When format="url" is used and the term has no image, the shortcode returns the 'default' attribute value as-is. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
