Description
The Event Booking Manager for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in all versions up to, and including, 5.7.8. This is due to the mep_grant_shop_manager_access() user_has_cap filter granting the manage_options capability to Shop Managers based on attacker-controllable request markers, such as a 'page' or 'post_type' query parameter, a '/wp-json/mep/' string anywhere in the REST request URI, or certain AJAX action prefixes, without verifying that the request actually targets a plugin endpoint. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Shop Manager-level access and above to obtain administrator capabilities for arbitrary requests, for example to read and update site settings through the REST API or access other administrator-only screens.
