Description
The Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'type' attribute of the [podcast_playlist] shortcode (compact player style) in all versions up to, and including, 3.17.0, due to insufficient input validation and output escaping. The attribute value is used as an HTML tag name and is passed only through esc_attr(), which does not stop spaces and attribute syntax. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
