Description
The Customer Email Verification for WooCommerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Email Verification Bypass via the 'cusomer_email_verify' verification link in all versions up to, and including, 2.8.2, due to the link's secret code being generated from predictable values: an MD5 hash of the recipient email address and the current timestamp for signup verification, or of the user ID and the current timestamp for account verification. Logged-out visitors can trigger the code for any address through the publicly reachable 'resend_otp' and 'check_email_exists' AJAX actions, which use a nonce printed on every front-end page. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to forge a valid verification link for an email address they do not control. They can mark existing accounts as verified, or create a new customer account for that address and be logged into it, without proving they own the email.
